Plasma2X makes prestigious LCR tech business sector list

The Liverpool City Region Tech Climbers 2024 list, showcasing the growing stars of the Region’s tech sector, was recently revealed – with Plasma2x recognised for their achievements.

The fourth edition of the Liverpool City Region Tech Climbers list highlights the top-performing technology-led businesses that make the LCR one of the UK’s most exciting tech destinations. The list also includes the region’s ‘Ones to Watch’ businesses – up-and-coming businesses that are active in the region and on course for great success in the future.

Plasma2x Limited, led by Mike Craven and Xin Tu from the University’s Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics, was recognised as ‘Tech Climbers Ones to Watch’. The company is revolutionising the production of ammonia. Their plasma and electrocatalysis process enables environmentally sustainable production of ammonia from air and water. Powered by renewable energy, it’s the solution for the growing demand for sustainable ammonia production in energy, agriculture, and maritime sectors.

Co-founder of Plasma2X Dr Mike Craven said: “We are delighted and proud to have made the 2024 LCR Tech Climbers list. Our mission is to change the way the world makes ammonia and help transform the fertiliser and energy sectors towards net zero. Recognition of our ambitions is humbling and inspires us towards making this a reality and achievement for the City, the Region and the UK.”
